She's one brave pregnant lady: Msian's shooter Nursuryani Mohamed Taibi

Salam,

I've read about her decision to still compete in the Olympics in London this year. Now, she's in London and she still adamant to try her luck in her favourite sports. This tough lady doesn't want to let go the once in a lifetime opportunity despite of her condition. I'm proud of her and wish her good luck. She's a already a winner since her determination is so strong.

Here is the news:

Malaysia's pregnant shooter, Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi, has made the trip to London and will compete in next week's 10m rifle event, just one month before she's due to give birth to a baby girl. She's not the first pregnant Olympian in history, but at 34 weeks is believed to be the furthest along.
The 29-year-old qualified for the Games at the Asian Shooting Championships in January, days after finding out she was pregnant. At the time, she had hoped her health would allow her to compete in London. So far so good.

Doctors say Nur Suryani is fine to compete. One of the few concessions she'll make is leaving London soon after her event on the advice of doctors who don't want her flying after 35 weeks.
In a sport that requires precision, calm and concentration, how will Nur Suryani compete with a child moving around her womb? "I will talk to the baby before I compete," she said in April. "[I'll say] no kicking, stay calm for one hour and 15 minutes only please."
She understands that some may criticize her Olympic quest but isn't fazed by it.

"Most people said I was crazy and selfish because they think I am jeopardizing my baby's health," she told reporters. "My husband said grab it as this is a rare chance which may not come again. Also, I am the mother. I know what I can do. I am a stubborn person."
Nur Suryani is the 47th-ranked shooter in the world and a long shot for a medal. She also qualified for the 50m rifle competition but can't compete in it for obvious reasons. That event has a section that requires athletes to lie on their stomachs, a position not exactly conducive to late-term pregnancy.

Ladies: Please be more careful!!!

Salam,

If you've been reading the latest news you'll definitely know about ladies being the victims of robbers. That's why we need to be more careful when we go out. It's better not to go out alone especially at night. But sometimes I know that some women find it hard to get a friend to accompany them. Maybe we can equip ourselves with some secret weapons like pepper spray or a baseball bat in our car.

Here's the latest news:

I always make sure I can get someone to accompany me to go to any shopping mall especially when I bring out my kids. Maybe I'm lucky to have brothers that want to accompany me when they are free especially when my hubby is out of town. I also try to avoid going out at night since I hate driving at night. When I was a teenager, my father gave me a penknife and an alarm for the protection. He also asked me to have a baseball bat in my car. I myself think it's better for all women to learn any martial art. At least we can learn on how to defend ourselves. Of course, before we go out, we must pray for safety even when we only want to go out to the nearest place.

Hit the wife and was asked to read more!

Salam,

I found this interesting news:

Wife-hitter sentenced to reading

Husband will take a test later to see what he has learned about relating

A Saudi national found guilty of hitting his wife has been sentenced to reading two books that explain relations between spouses in Islam. He will later sit for a test on what he learned from the books.

The husband was also told to memorise five of the 30 parts of the Quran, and 100 sayings by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Saudi Arabic daily Al Madinah reported Monday.

The husband was also ordered by a court in the Red Sea resort of Jeddah to give his wife 7,000 riyals (Dh6,854) and to make sure to preserve women's rights.

The wife had complained to the security authorities after her husband hit her during an argument when she told him he should go to hospital to visit his cousin while she sees her family.

The husband reportedly became angry over her wish to go out, hit her and caused her bruises.
My comment:
That is a good sentence since most sentences are mainly to punish but not really to make the doer realize his mistakes. I wish we can have this kind of sentence to teach instead of punishing. Most of the time, when somebody did something wrong it can be caused by his ignorance. Ignorance is not a bliss here as it might lead to serious effects.
What say you?

New way of asking "HELP".

Salam,

"Help! Help!", cried a woman when somebody was trying to grab her handbag. The culprit managed to escape quickly before other people came to help her. It happened to fast that she couldn't remember any detail about the culprit. That is just an example of a small crime that happens almost everyday now. We can never feel so safe anymore in Malaysia. We always have to be careful and take some precautions just to ensure our own safety.

Now, with a smart phone, we can download MyDistress Apps. What is it used for? Let's see:
