Shoo Negative thoughts and Hello Positive thoughts.

Salam,

This is  a reminder to myself and it can also help the others to face any challenges in life. We always stumble upon some problems and sometimes we choose to ignore the problems and hope they will go away or we pretend that the problems never happen. But that's not the best way to deal with problems or challenges in life.

If we let the negative thoughts to linger around, we will let our self-esteem down and at the end we are more or less become passive. Then, we will feel so hopeless and demotivated. At last, it can affect our performance at work or even jeopardize our personal life. Of course we don't want that to happen right?

That's why, we have to say "Hello" to positive thoughts everyday. But how can we do that?
Simple. Try these methods:
  • Start our day with a smile and let things happen but never let them affecting our mood.
  • Plan our day but don't feel sad if it doesn't turn out the way we want.
  • Make ourself busy with some work.
  • Find friends that have positive thinking.
  • Talk to other people that we can trust whenever we feel down.
  • Think about your problems as challenges that you can conquer.
Now, what I've shared today comes from my own thoughts. If you would like to add anything, you're most welcome.

Belajarlah..................... (BM entry)

Salam,

Book Smart VS Street Smart: Which one are you?

Salam,

BOOK SMART- Book smart is an idiom commonly used to describe people who are able to succeed with scholastics, but tend to lack street smarts.

STREET SMART-   Street smart is a term used to describe people that are able to survive without formal education.

Most of us basically fall into the first category right? However, we've seen some people who do not have higher formal education background are able to succeed in their respective fields. Sadly, the phenomenon in Malaysia nowadays is if you do not fall into the BOOK SMART group, you won't be successful in your life. I myself have seen some STREET SMART people succeeded just because they are so good with tasks on hands. Their teachers are their experiences. Their determination is far beyond the average people.

I can think of the best example of STREET SMART person that I've ever known was my late grandfather, Hj. Mad Said. He was illiterate and only managed to attend the school for two years! Well, he lived during the Japanese Occupation era when it was hard to attend any formal school. He started of his business with a small cafe (kedai kopila) in front of his house. Later  on, he managed to have some kind of businesses too. After he passed away, his children and his grandchildren are still be able to get some income out of his businesses even though it's not that much.

WHY AM I BLABBERING ABOUT THIS BOOK SMART VS STREET SMART?

The reason being is as today the SPM result was announced, many students excelled (like my brother, Asul who managed to score 10As though not the straight A+)  but there were still some who didn't achieve good results. For those who scored  excellent result, you have so many choices to make after this. Now, for those who didn't score well, just remember THAT IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. You also can make a lot of choices.

I always consider myself as BOOK SMART (bear in your mind that I was only an average student) and at the same time, I have a little bit of experiences in being a STREET SMART due to some circumstances. THUS, it's better to have a mixture of both!

We are so perfectly imperfect.

Salam,

I love to write something to challenge my thinking and it shows that I'm a very serious person. BUT....I'm not timid as if you really know me, we can have conversations from morning until night non-stop! I'm also not trying to be so philosophical here. It's just that I always can't help myself to think about what's happening around us.

Something to be ponder upon:

  • If we always think that we are so perfect, why are there some people who would think otherwise?
  • Why can't we consider other people's feelings while we speak,  when we our self don't want to get hurt.
  • Why must we choose a life partner that's perfectly imperfect?
  • How can we claim that we are a perfectionist when most of the time, things can get out of our hands?
  • Why do we want to scrutinize other people so much that we forget people can do the same on us?
  • Why can't we accept the fact that "We are in fact perfectly imperfect human being"?

Now......What do you reckon? Any opinion on this? Would you like to share your imperfect opinion? :)

BUT..............

Salam,

Have you ever wonder the effects of using the word "BUT" in our life? Have you ever realized that most of the time, "BUT" can really make you hesitate to proceed with your future plan?

Let's see some familiar situations in our life: (some might be related to you and some may not)
  • I want to help those poor people BUT I myself don't have enough money.
  • I love to become like that successful businessman BUT I'm not as clever as him.
  • I like to join your study group BUT I'm afraid that the others won't accept me.
  • I want travel around the world or at least visit some countries BUT I need to have a lot of money.
  • I love cooking BUT I'm afraid no one would like to try my cooking.
  • I would love to venture in business BUT I'm not so confident yet.
  • I want to be a good person BUT I'm surrounded around bad people.
  • I want to exercise BUT I don't have time do it.
 SO.........................................................
Does any of the situations sound familiar? Have you ever say or give the same excuses?
I myself use the word "BUT" and only realize it has stopped me to pursue what I want to do. When we have the hesitation, our mind will suddenly stop thinking of the other ways that we can use if we have the will. "WHEN THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY" is a good reminder for us. Thus, we should never say or use the BUT to give a lame excuse of what we think we are unable to do.

NOW.................Let's us try together to somehow reduce the usage of the word "BUT" in our daily conversations. Then, let's see what happens next.
