Barakallah Hulakuma: Wafiy & Farah (BM entry)

Hari kenduri, Ahad 1 Jun, kami terbangun lambat sikit sebab masih kepenatan. Hasilnya?
Lihatlah sendiri:

Rombongan pengantin perempuan sampai selepas pukul 2. Jadi penat juga menunggu pengantin. Rasanya lauk pauk dah sejuk bila pengantin mula makan. Kami siap masak pukul 12 tghr.

(eh macam sibuk giler). Dah susah sikit nak cuti lama-lama bila suami ada banyak kerja. Sampai tgh jln pun sibuk staf dia telefon tanya macam-macam sbb ada mesyuarat. (Mode: gerambilaorgtakretibahasaorgbercutini)

Bridesmaids, Flower Girls+ A Flower Boy.

Last Saturday, we headed off to Ipoh to attend and helping out my hubby's cousin who was getting married. We missed the solemnization event because it was done on Friday - the day before. We only managed to attend the reception in the Community Hall in Meru, Ipoh.

We took off at 8 a.m. and arrived by 10.30 a.m. The journey was smooth and we didn't stop at all throughout the journey. My MIL wanted to arrive there early to avoid any traffic jam and to help her sister (the mother of the bride) with the last minute preparation of the reception. By the time we arrived at their house, they have done packed most of the guests' gifts. So, we basically just sit back and relaxed before getting ready.

All of us have our 'uniform' given by the bride. We had to sent to a tailor to make them.To be frank, I'm not a fan of the colour and the fabrics chosen but we didn't have other choices. I felt that mine was the worst since the colour resembled nurses uniform or factory workers uniform. For our kids, they had to wear white dresses with a blue ribbon on the waist. The fabric looked like curtain fabric (it's a see-through fabric too) and I do hate white dress for kids. Okay I better stop here about my disappointment on a small issue.

At 12 p.m. , most of us got ready to go to the hall except for the bride. 3 make-up artists were busy preparing her to look gorgeous on her big day. Thus, they had to take about 3 hours before they sent her to the hall.

The flower girls + a flower boy were ready

At the hall, we were told to have our lunch first with the other guests who arrived early. We helped ourselves with the delicious food. Alhamdulillah the food was good and there were a variety of drinks too. As I've predicted, Husna stained her white dress while we were having lunch because she used both hands to eat on her own then smeared everything on the lap. Hafizah and Fathini did smeared their dresses a bit too. Luckily it was not so obvious.

The bride & groom with the groom's family members only arrived by 2.30 p.m. at the hall. By that time, Husna was already in the dreamland and our kids were also tired of waiting for so long. However, they were didn't make any face or complain (not like me eh... ). They performed their duty as being told by the eldest sister of the bride. The family members of the groom praised them and many took a lot photos with them. They even sprinkled more flowers after the bride and groom were already seated on the dais! Actually it was their first experience and they were so excited about it.

While the bride & groom were seating and posing on the dais, our job was to greet the guests who arrived. After greeting, we also handed over the gifts for the guests and asked them to go inside the hall. I only helped when I could leave Husna with someone else as she was taking her nap for almost the whole afternoon there. Oh...I forgot to mention that the rain showered down the whole afternoon. So, it was quite damp and wet outside of the hall. Thank god they put on 2 extra canopies where we could rest while waiting for the guests.

The reception went on until 4.00 p.m. when most of the guests have gone and no more new guests arrived. We only managed to take the family photo with the bride & groom after that. Husna woke up just before we took the family photos. She could happily run around the hall with her siblings, cousins and other relatives while the catering workers busy packing up.

A short picnic in Gold Coast Beach in Sepang.

Yesterday we went to Gold Coast Beach in Sepang (Pantai Bagan Lalang ler). It was not our first time there. We went there few months ago but we didn't bring any food and we had lunch in Morib before we checked out Gold Coast Beach.

We arrived by 10.30 a.m. and saw there were already quite a number of other families brought their family members and their own food too. Most of them even brought their own tents. We only brought a small mat with some food and water. Fathini and Hafizah brought their tools to make the sandcastle. Husna was just happy to tag along and play in the sand. We had to walk about 2 km before we could play in the water. There was a low tide at the beach and that's why everybody had to walk so far to play in the water.

My hubby and my elder daughters were walking towards the water

Some of the other families

Husna and I were left alone to take care of our things while my hubby and my other daughters had fun in the water. Husna entertained herself by walking around and helped me (sort of) to build our sand castle. We also ate some nuggets and observed how other families had their barbecued lunch there.

Our sand castle (Husna and I)

When my hubby and my elder daughters came back, we had our simple lunch comprising of white rice, stir-fried vegetables and fried chickens. Fathini and Hafizah rebuilt the sand castle while I brought Husna to enjoy herself in the shallow water. We left the place by 2 p.m. after it was getting hotter.

Hotel Impiana Ipoh: Hotel 4 bintang yang berbaloi. (BM entry)

Mula-mula ingatkan stadium.

Cuma kuah tu agak pedas bila dah tergigit cili padi. (tiada gambar yang makanan ye. mintak maaflah). Sambil mlakan, kami sempat jugak menonton perlawanan bola sepak Piala FA.

Karnival Ko-kurikulum & Hari keluarga SKKJ1 (BM entry)

Salam,

Ahd lepas sekolah Fathini menganjurkan Karnival Ko-kurikulum & Hari Keluarga.

Fathini selalu cakap "senamrombik". hehe.

Bila tamat senamrobik, Fathini sibuk ajak nak naik kuda. Sebelum Fathini dah ada beberapa orang budak menunggu giliran. Nak naik kuda kena bayar guna kupon RM5. Saya bagilah Fathini naik kuda sebab dia tak pernah merasa naik kuda. Memang seronok sangat bila dia dapat naik kuda tu. Bila orang yang pegang kuda suruh duduk tegak, bukan main tegak dia duduk. Hafizah pula, tak tahu kenapa takut sangat dan tak nak naik kuda.

Semasa Fathini sedang menaiki kuda, ada satu pertunjukan silat. Tak berapa pasti silat apa sebab sibuk perhatikan Fathini. Sempat jugak saya ambik gambar pertunjukan silat tu. Seronok jugak tengok demonstrasi silat tu.

Because I've promised her.

Salam,

Yesterday it was my 34th day according to my confinement period. But I had to do something which was not advisable for a woman who is still in the confinement period.

I went to see my youngest sister in Kolej Mara Banting because I made a promise to visit her once she has settled down. She looked happy to be able to study there even though the place is situated in a remote area. I'm glad that the place is in a remote area since the temptations to go out for loitering or wasting time and money is very slim. All she can do is concentrating on her study and excel in her study.

We arrived there by 12 p.m. When we were there, we could see that the place was quite huge. The first building we saw was a huge-3 storey building of classes. Then we saw the small mosque and the food court. We waited for my sister at the food court because the guard told us to wait there and we couldn't really go into the hostel. My sister was so excited to see us and she was more excited to meet and hold Husna for the first time.

The small mosque

My sister, Awin and my youngest daughter.

My sister, Awin wanted to go out and bought some stuffs. So, we took her out to the nearest town which was not so near. The town was about 5 km away from the school. We brought her to "The Store" in the town and also had lunch there. My sister bought some dried food and some clothes before we asked her to quickly choose and pay for the clothes after Husna made some noise. She started to feel uncomfortable since the weather was quite hot and stuffy even though we walked under the shade.

We went back to KMB and had a good rest in the mosque. I changed Husna's diaper and freshen her up before I asked Awin to take care of her for a while. There was one middle age woman thought Husna was Awin's baby because she asked Awin "How old is the baby?".

After Zuhr prayer (by 3 p.m.), we left Awin and promised to see her again next time. Maybe not during Ramadhan since we are going to see each other during Eid.

Our last photos before we said goodbye.

Genting's Trip (GVC's club & Strawberry's Park. (Part 2)

Salam,

This is a continuation from yesterday's entry.

When we arrived at Genting View Resort, it was only 10 o'clock. So, we decided to chill out in the apartment first before we went to GVC' club. My brother in-laws told us that the swimming pool was nice if we wanted to bring the children and spend some time there. By 11, we went to there and we were lucky that there were no other people who were using the pool when we arrived there.

Most of us decided to swim or at least take a dip in the pool except for me. Honestly, I can't swim and there were times when I almost get drowning when I was younger. Plus with my huge belly, I just wanted to rest at the side of the pool while taking some photos of my family members. My hubby's niece and nephew were quite afraid of water. They were just playing near the stairs and sometimes dip their feet in the water. My daughters really enjoyed themselves because they used their floats to help them swim. My youngest sister in-law also joined in with the kids. We stayed there until it was already noon and most of us were starving. We were so eager to go back to the apartment as my MIL and the others were on the way. They brought us the lunch!

After a satisfying and delicious lunch (rice, chicken curry, fried vermicelli and fried vegetables)  prepared by my MIL, we were quite sleepy. Most of us wanted to take a nap but my brother in-law suggested that we should check out the Strawberry Park in Gohtong Jaya. By 2 o'clock, most of us went to Strawberry Park (except for my MIL & FIL). It was about to rain when we left the apartment but we decided to go ahead with our plan because we found out that the park had a covered area.

When we arrived at Strawberry Park (not far from Seri Msia Hotel), it was raining like cats and dogs. Thankfully, they built up the park under the covered area and we could still pick up the strawberries under the heavy rain. We didn't need to pay for the admission as it was free. We only paid for the strawberries that we picked. Before we could go inside to pick, we were reminded (by the Bangladeshi's staff there) of certain rules:
1- Don't pick the green strawberries.
2- Cut only the ripen strawberries.
3- Don't pluck the strawberry's flowers.

Each basket was for three people. I shared the basket with my daughters. My daughters were the ones who were so excited in picking the strawberries. I became the quality control manager for them because I made the decision whether they should pick up the strawberry or not. My brother in-laws shared the basket with his wife and kids and my eldest SIL shared the basket with her younger daughter. My BIL's clan finished picking first and they had to pay less than RM20. When we went out to pay, I already knew that it would be quite expensive. We had to pay RM28.65. My eldest SIL was the winner (hehe) because she had to pay RM33.89.

After the picking, we proceeded to the other parts of the farm. However, we were quite surprised to see the never ending rows of shops along the way out. They purposely build up the shops starting with the eating place where people can buy strawberry ice cream, drink or strawberry and chocolate dip. We stopped for a while to eat ice creams and tried some hot drinks. The kids loved the ice creams and the adults loved the hot drinks. Well, actually I also bought the strawberry ice cream. I only tasted the hot strawberry chocolate that my hubby ordered.

Before we could find the actual exit, we stopped at several shops like the souvenir shop, vegetables shop and the mushroom shop. We tried very hard to resist the temptations (or was it just me?) but we failed because we bought a lot of other things at several shops. When we passed the mushroom farm just before the mushroom shop, we couldn't really bare the smell. It was the smell that came from the fertilizer. By the time we left the park, it was still raining. But I guess the experience that we had was priceless especially for our kids.

To be continued (hopefully tomorrow will be the last part. hehe)

The first (maybe also the last trip) to Genting Highlands. (Part 1)

Salam,

It has been 2 days since I updated this blog. Why was I so busy? Well..............I joined my in-laws for a trip to Genting Highlands. My brother in-laws, his wife and kids with her sister went to the place on Friday afternoon. We (my hubby, kids and I) only joined them the next day. My father in-laws, my mum in-laws and also their eldest daughter (with her younger kid) joined us later on Saturday.

We stayed at Genting View Parks which was not so high and also not so expensive compared to other hotels like First World or the others. There were some apartments near the area and we were given Meranti apartments. The aparment was not so bad with three bedrooms, one large living plus dining area, a spacious kitchen (with the stove) and two bathrooms.

To be continued.......(tomorrow)

Open day @ Dataran Nilai

Salam,

Yesterday evening, we had a nice day at Dataran Nilai. There was an Open Day organized by the local authority. Actually my MIL was the one who brought us there since she was on duty at one of the booths there. She had to be at KPJ booth. They took the chance to promote the nursing programmes in KPJ Nursing College in Nilai.

The location

Basically the Open Day looked like the night market scene. There were some booths selling many sorts of things from women's blouses, headscarves, toys, accessories, snacks, make up appliances, handbags and even pets. But it was not so crowded and we could stroll at ease around the area. My MIL had to stay at KPJ booth, so she asked me to bring my kids around the area. While checking out the booths, I bought some snacks and toys for them. And for myself, I bought some brooches and a long-sleeve inner. I also bought some cute baby clothes.

KPJ's booth

After stopping at several booths, we decided to have a rest and enjoy some food there. We tried some food like fried mushrooms with few different flavours, steamboat, waffles and coconut drink. I thought of buying some more food but then we were already quite full.

We resumed to stroll to the other booths as my MIL's maid (yup, she also tagged along) wanted to buy some stuffs for her children. She was the one who bought more stuffs since the price of the stuffs there was quite cheap. She bought some headscarves, brooches, lipsticks and a compact powder. By 7.30 , my MIL called us to join her at the prayer's room since it was already time for Maghrib's prayer. We only visited few more booths before we went home. I bought a box of blocks and two packs pf candy floss for my chirpy kids just before we headed home.

*We spotted the pink cat at one of the booths and there were also some nicely decorated and painted MYVI cars at the place.
