What's your crying style?

Salam,

Do you still remember what's your crying style when you were small? As for me, I still remember being put outside of the house (just near the front door) by my late mom when I couldn't stop crying. Only when I managed to calm down, my late mom would let me in. Now, I can see that my younger daughter also has the same behaviour. Yup, I realize she inherits it from me. hehe. Now, why don't you check out these photos and choose which one was your crying style.

WARNING: This is just for fun. No further interpretation with these photos.

The wonders of 3D/4D scan.

Salam,

Yesterday, my hubby, my kids and I went to Vision College near Giant Supermarket here ina KJ. It's for the appointment of ultrasound 3D/4D scan. Our appointment was at 3 but we had to wait for about 1/2 hour before we could go into the ultrasound room.

When it was our turn, my daughters were so excited as they had been waiting for a long time to see the baby. I had the mixed feelings of nervous and excited. The sonographer was a nice person. He answered all my daughters questions when we were looking at the screen. He explained in details each and every image that we saw. When he asked if we wanted to know the gender, my hubby and I said yes if we could see. BUT....I'm not going to reveal the gender here yet. Let's keep it as a surprise.

Here are 2 images that I can share here:

I'm at 32 weeks now. So.........it's not so long before the time comes. Even though this is my third time, I'm still nervous because each delivery is different. I just pray that everything is going to be okay. Please pray for me too.

Only teachers read books?

Salam,

This is just a short entry for today as I'm a bit tired today. I just want to share what happened in the government clinic near place. As usual, I brought a reading material to kill the time while I was waiting. When it was my turn at the counter where the nurse checked my blood pressure, she asked me "Are you a teacher?". I just nodded and asked her why did she asked me that. Then she told me, "Well, you have been reading a book for a while before you were called". "We (the nurses there) don't even have time to read newspaper".

Now, that was an interesting insight as I wonder if other people don't really read? I know that it's not true and we shouldn't make any hasty generalization here. Every morning on my way to work, I see many people have pick up the reading habit in LRT. I don't do it in LRT as I have a serious motion sickness in any moving vehicle if I choose to read.

So, what do you think about this?

Cintaku beralih arah.

 Salam,

Kehadapan Abg D,

Kini.............cinta adinda beralih arah.

Jangan salah faham ye.

Water

Salam,

Found this and think I should share here:

#1. 50% of world population are chronically dehydrated.

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger.
#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79% and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

Sad to be misunderstood by others.

Salam,

Communication through the latest gadgets like mobile phone or online networks sometimes bring a lot bad effects. I'm sure most of you have experienced or read the bad effects. I'm not writing an essay about the effects but to share my own experiences regarding the miscommunication and misunderstanding.

Written messages can be interpreted positively or negatively. It depends on how you read it. That's why there are some emoticons created to help the message to get across. Sadly, when I was in a hurry, I typed something and the person who received it thought that I was being disrespect just because she's older than me and she is related to me. I didn't have any intention of being disrespect but maybe the choice word was not suitable according to her. I forgot to address her with her "title" (of being older than me) and she ta ught that I was being rude.

I was so sad and at the same time also furious with her reaction when she told me in her reply to be more courteous in sending any text messages next time. I decided to throw away my ego and apologized to her even though I didn't think that I made any mistake. I guess it won't be so bad if it was a face to face communication where we can always explain and show our emotion and also demeanor.

Have you ever experienced any misunderstanding before in any written communication?

Euww.....politicians are so disgusting (literally).

Salam,

Initially I want to share some words in English that people always misuse today as Thursday is the day I share some vocabulary. But then I have decided to  to postpone it till next week because I need to cool down today. I lost my temper in class and after the prayer and recitation of Quranic verses, I searched some videos on YOU TUBE.

WARNING: IF YOU ARE EATING WHILE READING THIS, YOU HAVE TO STOP EATING. OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT THROW UP.

Now, let's see some disgusting politicians. I laughed so  much when I looked at the pictures and videos.

Politician no 1:

 This happened yesterday (in Msia)

Politician no 2:

This happened in UK. (not sure when)

Politician no 3:

This happened in Australia. (Kevin Rudd was the former PM of Australia)

Now, I'm not sure why do they acted like that especially in the parliament. Is it because of the boredom or it's just their bad habit. But picking nose and eating ear wax are totally disgusting act in public. What do you think?

Will she find her Mr. Right???

Salam,

I found this intriguing article and love to share it here because by the time you finish reading the article, you'll have so many questions like; Is it the best way to find Mr. Right?, Will she really find her Mr. Right? or Is she so desperate?

Saudi woman offers SR5 million to find Mr. Right

Woman says she will pay for new husband but he must accept her conditions
Published Sunday, April 15, 2012
If you are looking for a rich wife, then read this story. A Saudi woman is offering SR5 million (Dh4.9 million) to get married — even if it is a Misyar marriage.

But wait. The woman has conditions which she will not reveal now. The main thing is that the new husband must “appreciate marriage life.”

The woman published the attractive offer in the Saudi Arabic language magazine Roa, which said applicants can write to it by e mail or fax. The announcement neither mentioned the woman’s name and age nor where she lives.

“Applicants should provide their contact number so the woman will contact them in case she agrees on the marriage,” the magazine said.

It quoted the woman as saying:”It does not matter whether the new husband is attracted to my money as the most important thing is that he must appreciate marriage life and marital duties…I am even ready to accept a Misyar marriage and pay him SRfive million at once…he will live with me in my villa and must accept all my conditions which I will reveal to him later.”

The magazine said the woman was married before but that she divorced her husband “was greedy and wanted only money.”

“I made the wrong choice first time….I want to make the right choice now…my main obsession now is to marry…I am desperate to marry,” the woman said.

Misyar is a marriage contract where couples can live separately but get together regularly, often for sexual relations.

Although permitted in Saudi Arabia and under Islam, Misyar is not popular with many who see it as legal prostitution. Women lose nearly all their rights in a Misyar marriage and nearly 80 per cent of Misyar relationships end in divorce.
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK?

My first ever baby shower.

Salam,

Yup, I know that "baby shower" is not our culture. That's why I never had it before. This time, it was my colleagues idea as they just want to have something that we can celebrate with all the teachers in our centre this month. It was basically meant to wish the expecting mommies (my friend, Sus' and I). After some speeches, it was mainly having nice lunch together.

The event started almost at 1 o'clock yesterday. It was not a surprise party for me as I was told by the organizers few days before. WHY? Well, originally I planned not to join them as on Friday, I normally leave right after I finish teaching which is by 12.30. So, they had to spoiled the surprise and told me about their plan. The good thing was I could bring my camera along and captured the moment.

To begin the event, the two CEO's (Chief Entertainment Officers) who are also the organizers, called us to sit on the two special chairs. We were given the special gift like the "Mummy To Be" title (mcm Mrs World pulak rasa :P ) and some gifts for our babies. Then they asked other colleagues to give some speeches. Most of them wished us to have a safe delivery. There was one interesting speech given by the most senior colleague. He advised us not to stress ourselves with the workload and come back to work after a well-rested confinement. Of course we (the mommies) were also asked to give a speech. So, both of us shared our gratitude on their effort to organize such an event for us. We said that we were so blessed to have the caring and kind colleagues.

After all the speeches, we were starving. When it was time to eat, everybody couldn't wait to get their hands on the Special Tomato Rice, vegetable curry ,fried chicken and the spicy chicken with hot sauce. There was also a special treat, ICE CREAM at the end.

I really appreciate what they have done to me as that was my first ever baby shower . (this is my third baby) It was simple yet meaningful as it's just a get-together and share the moment with my colleagues.

Before I left, I had the chance to posed with some of my colleagues and and also took a picture of myself in front of the cute decorative board. Do I look so big now? hehe

Saying "Cheers".

Salam,

Here's another entry on learning on how to use English in your daily usage.

How many of you realize that some people just love to use this word "CHEERS"? Most of us normally associate this word with the situation where somebody is toasting an alcoholic drink to others because they are celebrating something.

There are other meaning of cheers if we check in http://thesaurus.com. That's why it's important to differentiate between the CONNOTATION meaning and the DENOTATION meaning. Connotation basically means the meaning is based on people's perception of the current situation. While denotation means the meaning is based on the English dictionary.

The meaning of cheers for the action of toasting a alcoholic drink to celebrate is more on the CONNOTATION meaning.

The meaning of cheers in DENOTATION meaning:
Main Entry:
cheer [cheer] Show IPA
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: happiness
Synonyms: animation, buoyancy, cheerfulness, cheeriness, comfort, delight, encouragement, exuberance, gaiety, geniality, gladness, glee, good cheer, hilarity, hopefulness, jauntiness, jocundity, joy, joyousness, lightheartedness, liveliness, merriment, merry-making, mirth, optimism, solace
Antonyms: depression, gloom, gravity, melancholy, sadness, seriousness, unhappiness

How to convince an atheist?

Salam,

I need some help with my dilemma in convincing a friend of mine (a kiwi friend that I knew back in Hamilton, NZ). She is an atheist and a few days ago, I posted something on my status in FB. I find it very hard to convince her about Islam. Well, I don't really want to force her to change her believe but just trying my luck in at least give her something to think about. I'm not so good in influencing people when it comes to this as I need to learn a lot more. I just don't want to mislead her and also give her the wrong perception towards Islam. So, please read the post and all the comments and share your thoughts about this:

THE POST
A NON-MUSLIM teacher asked a MUSLIM student

*Teacher*

Teacher : Can you see ALLAH?

... Student : No.
Teacher : Can you touch ALLAH?
Student : No
Teacher : Then there isn't ALLAH!

*Student*

Student : Sir, can you see your brain?
Teacher : No.
Student : Can you touch your brain?
Teacher : No.
Student : Oh okay, so you don't have a brain?

Put this as your status if you Love & Believe in Allah. Put this on your Wall if you're not embarrassed to tell others that you believe in Allah
· · Monday at 20:26

    • She said: I'd say you can "see" your brain (with a scan or EEG), and you can touch it if your skull is open or a sample is taken. Besides, it would seem reasonable (to me) to infer that, when we know every functioning person investigated has had a brain, it is highly likely any given functioning person also has a brain. Whereas I have not had sufficient evidence to believe in a god. Maybe one day.

    • Me: Maybe one day you can see what I can see when it comes to believe in god. I'll pray for you.
      15 hours ago · · 1

    •  She said: Thank you, you're very kind! Save the prayers for someone who is truly in need though - I think I'm a lost cause :)

Panik (BM entry)

Conscious about appearance: I'm not FAT!

Salam,

I'm not going to talk about myself. This is about Hafizah, my younger daughter. She is more conscious about her appearance now especially when her elder sister likes to tease her. Fathini says that "Hafizah is fat". Hafizah doesn't like that because she is actually not fat. She is chubbier than Fathini because she has good appetite. She is not choosy when it comes to food compared to Fathini. I guess this is because I managed to BF Hafizah until she was 2 1/2 years old compared to Fathini. I had to stop breastfeeding Fathini when she was only 1 1/2 years old due to the infections.

Kids nowadays are more conscious about their appearance at an early age like 5. They can already understand the images that have been showed on the mass media. So, they know the words obese, fat or skinny. They have the idea that being skinny is beautiful. It's not too late to change their perception on that if we can be the good role model. I've tried my best to show that being healthy and having ideal weight is better than being either at the end of the two; obese or skinny.

Does she look FAT?

When you borrow, you need to pay back.

Salam,

I'm quite upset with what has happened lately in Fathini's school. NO...it's not because she's doing well in her study. Or she's having any disciplinary problems. It's just that some of her friends have been asking to borrow some money from her. She's kind and (maybe innocent too) because she wants to help her friends. But I think they were taking advantages on her. They asked some money from her and never paid back. She only told me what happened few days ago and I've warned her that if anybody ask to borrow some money again, just say "Sorry, I can't give you" or "No".

It's not about teaching Fathini to be "stingy" but this is about life's principal. I always tell Fathini that we have to be nice to people but this is not one the way to be nice especially those kids are not really from poor family. They just have the habit of asking money from other kids. I see this as a kind of "bullying". They pick on the easy prey like nice kid that seems rich. I don't really give a lot of pocket money to Fathini. She normally brings about RM5 per week. Sometimes she loves to bring some food from home, so she has extra money in her wallet.

We are monitoring the situation now, if it gets worse, I have to call and inform about this to Fathini's teachers. Let them handle the situation before it's too late. I might sound like a "bossy mum" but if something is wrong, we need to straighten this up before it gets worse. These kids might borrow only RM1 now, but as they grow older, the amount will increase.

Have any of you encountered this problem before?

New Vocabulary Segment: RACKET!

Salam,

Starting from this week, I would like to share one word in the "New Vocabulary Segment" that is going to be a weekly entry every Thursday. This is just to share what I know and words that can be useful to us.

Thus, this week I've chosen the word "Racket" this week.

Most of us always think about badminton racket, tennis or squash racket right?

BUT......do you know that when you check again the meaning of this word, there's another meaning which is
havoc, commotion, sort of noise or creating a scene.

For example, we can use the word in sentences like:

a) Jono:  I saw somebody created a racket in the market today.

Junu:  Oh, really! No wonder my mum came back late from the market. She might know what   happened then.

b) Hafizah: Kakak, please stop making such a racket! I'm doing my homework now. I need to focus.

Fathini:  Nonsense. I don't think I'm bothering you. You're making things up.

Okay. I hope that this explanation is clear and informational. Next week, I'll share other word that we can use daily.

Bawaku Pergi : Patutkah diharamkan? (BM entry)

Salam,

Isu lagu "Bawaku Pergi" bukan baru.

Wallahuallam.

I Love You So.

Salam,

Do you know that Maher Zain has produced a new album? Well, this is one of the songs in his new album. Enjoy!
